2016 Conference of ALSCW

We are pleased to announce that the 2016 ALSCW Conference will take place Thursday to Sunday, October 27th and 30th at the Catholic University of America. The panels and seminars are filled with an outstanding mix of more than 130 senior and junior scholars, independent scholars, and creative writers. Please pass the word to your colleagues and join us in beautiful Washington, DC.

Highlights include:

On the evening of October 27th Rosanna Warren, Hanna Holburn Gray Distinguished Professor at the University of Chicago, will read her poetry, and Brad Leithauser, Professor of Creative Writing at Johns Hopkins University, will read his fiction. The event will include hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.

On the evening of October 28th, the conference will feature performances by jazz vocalist Rachelle Fleming and by the Renaissance folk band Floyds Row. The event will include hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.

On the evening of October 29th, the banquet will include a three-course dinner (with wine and non-alcoholic beverages), the keynote lecture by David Bromwich, Sterling Professor of English at Yale University, and a performance by two-time Grammy winner Mike Mattison and his band Scrapomatic.
